一味同心(i-chi-mi-dou-shin)

It is a bit difficult to express it in English. However, it roughly means  ‘great teamwork’ when translated. What is the recipe to establish an effective team? Respect, passion and effective communication—those are some. What are your team’s secret ingredients to achieve ‘great teamwork’?
Let’s take a look at each character.

一味(i-chi-mi) = It simply means group. This is a neutral word which doesn’t carry positive or negative meanings when used alone, unless linked with other Kanji.

同心(dou-shin) = It is translated literally as ‘same thought/goal’ or ‘one mind’.

As a result, the combination of these characters gives us a positive meaning. It means, ‘a team/group with one mind working towards achieving a common goal’. Some Japanese like to use it on pennants. This is to ignite camaraderie and teamwork within the team which leads to a happier workplace.
