無双(mu-sou)

If you’re a big fan of Japanese manga, video games or anime, then you must have heard of this word. It expresses ‘unparallel’ and ‘matchless’ which means nothing compared to that person.

無(mu)= It means “nothing”.
双(sou)= It means “two” in this context. (Other meanings: pair, set or comparison)

Both Kanji above have simple definitions but when they are connected, the combination carries powerful meanings.

無双 = It expresses ‘unparallel’ or ‘matchless’. That means, no one compares to that person. No wonder, Japanese Samurai use this Kanji to convey their power.
