克服(ko-ku-fu-ku)

These Kanji characters can be roughly translated as ‘overcome’. This gives us an image of a person conquering and winning over poverty, illness, disadvantage, or any adversity in life. This phrase has a strong message that will keep you motivated in the face of adversity.

克(ko-ku)= This word has a lot of definitions but in this context, it means ‘conquering adversity to win’ or ‘Endure to win’.

服(fu-ku)= This word literally means ‘clothes/clothing’  but we may also refer it to ‘obedience’.
